High River based artist, Jo Merritt, has been immersed in art since she could hold a pencil and a brush. 

She attended the Alberta High School of Fine Arts, where she was heavily involved in all of the art programs, extra-curricular art programs and Mainstage.

After obtaining a degree in beauty and special effects makeup, from Vancouver's John Casablanca Institute, she attended University to studying for a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Psychology.

Moving to High River in 2012, Jo continued doing beauty and special effects makeups as well as teaching paint nights and becoming involved with the local community theatre group.

In 2022 the official opening of her AHS approved in-home tattoo studio, Jo continues leading paint nights as well as preferring to taking the "fun" makeups.
